Sonya Blake has over seven years of experience working with children, youth, adults, couples, and families impacted by trauma, violence, and complex psychosocial adversity. Her clinical work is grounded in a trauma-informed, attachment-based, and anti-oppressive framework, with a specialized focus on complex and developmental trauma. Sonya provides trauma-focused psychotherapy using a variety of evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.

She integrates the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model (ITATM), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT/EFCT) for couples, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and somatic-based interventions. Her work supports clients in the stabilization, processing, and integration of traumatic experiences. She works extensively with individuals experiencing Complex PTSD (CPTSD), relational trauma, and the long-term impacts of childhood abuse and neglect. In her work with couples, Sonya uses EFCT to support partners in strengthening emotional connection, improving communication, and repairing relational injuries. Her approach emphasizes nervous system regulation, parts work, and the development of internal safety and coherence, while also supporting clients in restructuring core beliefs rooted in trauma.

Sonya holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Social Work from McMaster University. She is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Carly has worked with children and youth since 2013 in a non-therapeutic, but educational daycare setting, as well as within a mental health setting at Pathstone Mental Health. Carly has also worked with youth and adults in a therapeutic setting since her employment as a Registered Psychotherapist began in 2022. She works extensively in the treatment of individuals struggling with various mental health and distress issues within relationships and day-to-day life.

Sonya has worked with children, young adults, and older adult populations since 2016, offering services in mental health treatment, psychotherapy, case management, crisis intervention, and comprehensive needs assessment. She works extensively in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex mental health needs and those affected by adverse social determinants of health, including financial and housing instability.

Sonya graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Honours) from Brock University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Social Work from McMaster University in 2023. She completed certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) through the Portland Institute, and Access to Lethal Means for suicide prevention, and is currently completing Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) trauma-informed training.
